how it works

  1. Arrive at 5pm – Registration opens at 5pm and you will have 45 minutes to enjoy a beverage, network and post the three topics you would like to talk about on the board. This is a casual event, but come prepared, projectors will be supplied if you would like to better illustrate your discussion with a laptop. At approximately 5:45 we will vote on the topics to be talked about during the night.
  2. Discussions start at 6pm – We will split into smaller groups and openly discuss the winning topics over the next 3 hours. If your topic is picked you will be asked to lead the discussion. This can be structured as a talk given by you - or a simple open forum discussion, including and pulling from the wealth of knowledge in the room! You can attend whatever topic you wish.
  3. Networking, beer & wine at 9pm – We will have much to discuss, so stay for awhile, drink, network and be merry!

After graduating from Tyler School of Art in 1980 my experience in the industry started with one of Philadelphia's larger design agencies as a designer, art director and assistant creative director. More recently (Starting in 1997) I have owned and operated AXIS visual, a graphic marketing firm specializing in creative solutions to help businesses with their visibility, marketing and branding. We build the visual "face" for businesses and products. This face needs to work for the clients to increase their brand equity and in the end motivate their target market.
Diversity of work is critical both for the learning of skills that can be used for other industries and projects and also simply for my own education and fun. I've designed and developed everything from ad campaigns, web sites, corporate identity, trade shows, magazines, email marketing, logos brochures, just about everything that businesses need to be successful and visible in their specific markets. My experience in business areas is equally as diverse and include Pharmaceutical, Energy, Chemical, Travel, Technology, Entertainment, Printing, large, small, formal and playful.
I love applying creating thinking to almost anything. My ultimate goal? To design everything. Although, I admit, this may take a little time.
